I was amazed to hear about the California woman that gave birth to octuplets this week - only the second set ever born.  Apparently they thought all along that there were seven babies, and were completely surprised to find the eighth when they were born.  They told us for several months that we were having triplets before they found our fourth, one of the identical boys, hiding behind the other one.  We had only just gotten used to the idea of having three, we were just dumbfounded when they found the fourth.  I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to find an EIGHTH baby!

I commend the family for attempting to keep their glorious event private, and wish them all the best.  The first few months will be the hardest, but hopefully the family will have plenty of help and support from friends and loved ones to see them through.  I know that even though it does get easier over time (and we "only" have five under four) we would certainly be lost without Nana, Mamaw, Papaw and Aunt Diana!!!!
